Accordion Gates

Japanese Accordion Gate secure difficult Driveways

Many driveways are blocked by walls or buildings, leaving no room for a driveway gate to retract. Other driveways are sloped, making a swing gate impossible. Japanese aluminum accordion gates can work here because they can expand long distances to secure a property. When opened, they contract into small stacks that can be turned around their post and out of the way.

Meticulously designed and fabricated in Japan accordion gates are made to last. They come fully assembled and need no maintenance at all. See details with this example: DVG-Gates PDF. The DVG can span long distances, handle sloping driveways and secure pets.

The left image displays a collapsed accordion gate with retracted lock-down sticks. The right image shows the gate stack pivoting around its hinges to move out of the way (up to 180ΒΊ.)

A steel guide rail is optional but can help keep the gate on track for smoother operation.

A double accordion gate can span 40' across and keep a driveway unobstructed when the gate is open. The gate can be color matched with other products like carports and fences for a unified look.

There are two basic types of folding gates from Japan, the accordion gates and the bi-folding gates. Both types have an option to keep small animals safe with added pet-guards. Above DVG-P gate has added vertical profiles between the gears for that purpose

The Telescoping Accordion Gate HGN, an outstanding example of Japanese engineering, operates smoothly without casters or a guide-rail. It secures with a front-end support wheel and lock-down sticks at intervals. This gate is compatible with all surfaces, including grass, dirt, and pavement.
